Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism and Mackenzie District Council Partnership
From 17 September 2012 until 12 September 2013, Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism (CCT), Canterbury's regional tourism organisation, has been contracted to provide core tourism marketing services for the Mackenzie District Council (MDC).
Following MDC's decision not to continue with the Mackenzie Tourism & Development Trust as its vehicle for marketing the region beyond 31 July 2012, MDC needs time to develop a new model for supporting the industry at a level that is sustainable for its ratepayers.
Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism welcomes the opportunity to assist with marketing the Mackenzie District, home to many of the South Island's iconic tourism gems.
Our role will be to liaise with tourism operators, represent the region at key travel trade events, host media and travel trade familiarisation visits, assist operators with web listings, and ensure the district is involved in marketing campaigns and to provide a unique Official Visitors Guide for the region.
